Featured Cougars: Melissa Chitwood & Amber Esparza

A big shout-out to our school counselor, Melissa Chitwood, and our third-grade teacher, Amber Esparza, for stepping up to lead this year's Student Council. Their first meeting on Friday was a huge success, with over 50 interested fifth and sixth-grade students turning out! This year, students will have the opportunity to run for traditional roles like president and vice president, along with fun committee leadership positions such as Intramural and School Spirit Coordinator. We're excited to see the video speeches from all our student candidates and are so grateful for Mrs. Chitwood and Mrs. Esparza's amazing leadership.

PTO and Community Events:

Join us for our first Cougar Community event —  Family Math & Science Night — THIS Thursday, Sept. 25th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. We’ll experiment and estimate how fun math & science games can be with our fellow OV families & friends. Food will be available for purchase (proceeds support 6th Grade Science Camp).

Cougar Communication:

Interested in learning more about Ocean View Elementary? We are looking for 5 parents to join our School Site Council (SSC) this year. We review our school safety plan, budget, goals, and more to ensure we exceed the expectations of our students, staff, and community. Click here to learn more and join.

We are working with Miner’s Hardware (Grover Beach) this Saturday from 10:00-4:00. Ocean View is selling hot dogs and raffling off a $500 pizza oven. Proceeds from the hot dog sales, raffle, and 5% of store profits go straight back to OV! Come out on Saturday to help us raise money!
